Straits Times “Mind Your Body” – Antibiotics (25th September 2014)
Kind of a shameless plug, as I was quoted rather extensively in this September 25th article on antibiotics in Straits Times’ Mind Your Body section. But I am always very glad when the popular press runs an article on antimicrobial resistance or over-prescription of antibiotics – bringing awareness to the community is one of the key ways to generate the impetus for change. And antimicrobial resistance is a topic that seems far more difficult to grasp (or explain) compared to other “wicked problems” such as climate change – which people can directly experience, whether said experience can actually linked to climate change or not is another matter.
Hi LY,
I’m sure you’ve seen this before, but posting it here for others: http://www.cdc.gov/getsmart/campaign-materials/print-materials/ViralRxPad-color.pdf
Do you think that tongue-in-cheek “prescription” would be enough to dissuade the most stubborn and demanding of clinic patients? 🙂
Cheers,
Deepak

Hi Deepak, thanks for the link. Yes, I do think such things will be very helpful. Getting them implemented is another matter…
