ICICAS 2015

Attended the International Congress of Infection Control Association (Singapore) – ICICAS for short – held at the Waterfront Copthorne Hotel in Singapore today.

Held over 2 days (with a series of pre-congress workshops on various practical aspects of infection control), this congress is organised by the Infection Control Association (Singapore) (ICAS) and chaired by the indefatigable Dr. Ling Moi Lin, director of infection control at Singapore General Hospital, and who is also the president of ICAS.

The congress was well attended, with a majority of infection control nurses, but also a significant number of doctors and other healthcare professionals. There was also a good mix of local and international speakers, and I was just in time to catch the talk on Clostridium difficile given by Prof. William Rutala of the University of North Carolina School of Medicine – a world-renowned expert on disinfection, sterilisation and healthcare-associated infections.
